Womack Army Medical Center, located in Fort Bragg NC is situated on a 163-acre site.  The new health care complex has increased quality care and access to beneficiaries by bringing more medical and specialized resources to Fort Bragg. Return on investment is a figure that can easily be manipulated and is usually highly over inflated to prove the high up front costs of a capital investment. In our experience, a department that manually schedules nurses has one person spending on average, one hour per day devoted to covering off sick calls. This person is usually an assistant manager or charge nurse. Assuming that nurse earns $25/hour, then that means that 30 hours or $750 is spent per month to handle sick calls. If the department were using Shift Wizard and having automated messages sent out (say 20 messages per day at $0.15/message), then the time that the same nurse used could be cut down to 15 minutes per day.
